Conference and Workshop Registration

Conference registration is available at https://css.paperplaza.net/registration/ through June 14. On-site registration will be open from Monday evening, June 25 to Friday afternoon, June 29. The Registration Desk is scheduled to be in operation during the following hours:

  • Monday, June 25: 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, June 26: 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, June 27: 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 28: 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Friday, June 29: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Registration is mandatory for all conference and workshop participants. Personal badges will be provided to identify registered participants.

Conference Registration Rates and Fees

All registered participants will receive admission to the welcome and farewell receptions and one set of the conference proceedings on a USB flash drive. Member and Non-Member registration also includes the conference lunch banquet. Registration packets (including printed receipts) for all advance registrations will be available at the conference registration desk.

The Member registration rate is limited to members of the American Automatic Control Council societies (AIAA, AIChE, ASCE, ASME, IEEE, ISA, SCS, and SIAM). Life members of AACC societies are not entitled to reduced conference registration rates.

Member and Non-Member registrations allow for the upload of up to four (4) accepted papers for inclusion in the conference proceedings. Please note that while advance registration is available until May 1, 2012, final versions of papers must be uploaded (with a qualifying registration) by March 15. See the ACC policy on paper uploads below.

The Student registration rate is restricted for those attendees who, at the time of registration or initial submission, are full-time students at a recognized educational institution. Student registrants should bring evidence of full-time student status to the conference. Note that papers cannot be uploaded with Student registrations.

The Retiree registration rate is restricted for those attendees who, at the time of registration, are retired or do not hold full-time employment. Note that papers cannot be uploaded with Retiree registrations.

The one-day registration fee is available on-site only.

ACC Policy on Registration and Paper Upload

One Member or Non-Member registration at the advance registration rate must be paid by one of the authors of an accepted paper before the final version of the paper can be uploaded for presentation at the conference and inclusion in the conference proceedings. Further, each Member or Non-Member registration allows the registrant to upload a maximum of four (4) papers. Each additional paper upload requires an additional payment equal to half the Member or Non-Member registration fee (whichever applies).

Workshop Registration

A number of preconference workshops will be offered at ACC 2012, on June 26. Both half-day and full-day workshops are available. See the workshop page for more information. Workshop attendance requires a separate registration payment, as noted below.

Space is limited in workshops and they are also subject to cancellation because of lack of registrants. Advance registration for workshops is therefore highly recommended.

Conference registrants can sign up for workshops directly through the registration site. For workshop-only registration (i.e., registering for a workshop without registering for the conference proper), please contact the Registration Chair with your name, e-mail address, and PaperPlaza PIN.

Payment Options

Conference and workshop registration payments, whether in advance or on-site, must be made with a credit card and will be charged in U.S. dollars. Purchase orders, bon de commandes, promissory notes, bank transfers, personal checks, and cash will not be accepted.

Refund Policy

If an author has uploaded a paper using his or her registration, the registration will not be refunded even if the paper is withdrawn or the author is unable to attend the conference.

Other requests for a refund of the advanced registration fee will be processed as follows:

  • Requests received by the advance registration deadline of May 1, 2012, will be fully honored and all registration charges will be refunded.
  • Requests received between May 2, 2012 and June 1, 2012 will receive a 50% refund.
  • No refunds will be given for requests received after June 1, 2012.

    Registration Desk

    The Registration Desk for the conference will be on the Mezzanine level in the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth meeting space. Registration will be open throughout the conference, starting on the evening of Monday, June 25.
